Some Caribbean beaches impress you with dramatic scenery. Eagle Beach wins you over with something simpler: a huge stretch of soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and enough open space to settle in and stay awhile.

Located on Aruba's western coast, Eagle Beach is the widest beach on the island. Its relaxed atmosphere makes it a natural choice when you want a classic Caribbean beach day without filling every hour with activities.

Come early for the water, but consider staying until evening. The sunset may become your favorite part of the day.

Find Your Own Stretch of White Sand

Eagle Beach gives you room to spread out.

The broad shoreline is covered in soft white sand, with shaded areas and beach huts available along parts of the beach. Several low-rise hotels are nearby or across the road, but the shoreline itself still feels wonderfully open.

Bring a towel, take a walk along the water, and choose a spot that looks inviting.

If you prefer a quieter experience, an early-morning visit gives you time to enjoy the beach before the day gets busier.

Cool Off in the Turquoise Water

That brilliant Caribbean water is difficult to resist.

Eagle Beach is known for clear water and is a popular place for swimming. You can spend an afternoon alternating between the sea and the sand without needing a complicated itinerary.

If you want more activity, watersports are also available in the area. Options can vary, so check what is operating during your visit.

Whatever you choose, pay attention to current water conditions and local safety guidance before heading in.

Look for Aruba's Famous Fofoti Trees

You may recognize Eagle Beach before you even arrive.

Two distinctive fofoti trees stand near the shoreline and have become some of Aruba's most photographed natural landmarks. Their windswept silhouettes appear frequently in images promoting the island.

They make an especially beautiful foreground for beach photos, but admire them respectfully. Aruba tourism guidance asks visitors not to sit on or climb the trees.

Eagle Beach is also an important nesting area for sea turtles. If you encounter a marked nest or wildlife, keep your distance and follow local conservation instructions.

Stay for the Sunset

Late afternoon brings a completely different mood to Eagle Beach.

As the sun moves toward the horizon, the bright daytime colors soften into warmer shades. The wide shoreline gives you plenty of room to find a comfortable viewing spot.

Aruba's tourism authority specifically recommends Eagle Beach in the late afternoon for its sunsets.

Instead of packing up after your final swim, stay a little longer. Walk along the shore, photograph the fofoti trees in silhouette, or simply sit and watch the sky change.

Give Eagle Beach Time

Eagle Beach does not require a packed schedule to feel worthwhile.

Swim. Walk. Relax under the shade. Take photos of the famous trees. Then stay long enough to watch daylight disappear over the Caribbean.

There are plenty of things to see around Aruba, but not every travel day needs to be busy.

Sometimes white sand, turquoise water, and an unforgettable sunset are more than enough.
